This one seems to be my favorite out of the series you've uploaded. I partially like them and can tell alot about you from them. At least I think so.

They show a certain feeling of breaking free from standards but also seem to be a necessity for you. Fast painted: Need of money? Artistical depression? Cleavage!

This one is most represenative of what i'm working on now. The others were different progressions of trying to get where i am now. In earlier paintings, i was trying more for emotions. Now i am working with large structural shape. I'm trying to work in black and white but i can't seem to keep out of the yellow ochre and the red hue dark. I was speaking thru the earlier paintings but now i'm trying to settle down more into basic design and composition. It's hard, i'm learning about so many different things at once. Color, shape, texture, depth, push and pull. I have only been painting for eight months, i was trained as a sculptor. Sculpture eventually always finds it's way back into my work. I wasn't thinking of money when i made these. These were mainly just learning exercises for me. As far as speed, i usually take about two weeks to finish a painting. I do some and then let it sit. I stare at it for about 5 days and try to figure out what direction i want to go with it. Then i usually have some parts that i don't like so i have to go back and fix, which takes another 3-5 days. Miss ya

Art is not a matter of perfect technique, it is life of the soul. It is my belief that ultimate reality can only be achieved by a passionate burning devotion to one's work.

I'm sorry. While I wrote my comment, I was thinking about our mails. We talked about life as an artist and the worry about your pension. I connected those bits and came to the point that this series might be both: a option to gain money with less work and also a deliverence from your former work. But I should know: You develope, you always learn and those paintings are stepstones to a higher level. My Apologies.

Love.

No apology needed. Hope i didn't sound hostile. With all the feedback it gives me a chance to see what is valid and what is not. About 98% of the comments have at least a grain of truth. Mostly tho, it gives me a chance to give more background on the pieces, than just "acrylic on canvas". Each one has it's successes and often times some things you don't like about it. Remember, i painted over a bunch of canvases? This was what i had leftover. On a few i fixed things that had been bothering me for awhile. On others, sometimes you just have to let it go and move on. Some of the ones i posted i don't think are that great but surprisingly enough other people do. It's not necessarily because their grand but in each of these there is something i am still studying about the painting. Still trying to figure out what's working and what i would do differently. Some have only the slim idea of what i was trying to convey but i will work that idea in a series so i can get to the nugget of truth that i was originally wanting to express. I can't yet paint what i want to articulate. That is frustrating. My spirits are good. I'm having a great time here at DA. Plus, i got another table in my studio today! YEA!

your jobs very effective... my favourite artist..
:iconbrined-up:
i never saw this one. i like it. there was this one painting i saw long ago that was supposed to be a aerial shot of a coast line... it looked like a bird to me, but it was a somewhat famous abstract painting, but i forget the name of the artist. i like this style... it's very deliberate, forged.
